No Way Frosé!
It was a few years ago that we first heard of the drink that had swept the West Coast earlier than that, and spotting it in an unassuming P-Town establishment thought we’d give it a try. It was sunny, the vibe was great and who doesn’t like a pink drink every now and then?
And that was it. Love at first sip.
Now for those not aquianted with this marvel of the modern age, let me give you some watch outs - because pretty much any other place we’ve had it....it’s awful.
Frosé is made by freezing Rosé wine and adding strawberries and Vodka. Maybe the tiniest amount of sugar if the strawberries aren’t super ripe....but definitely vodka. It should have the kick of a dreamy Long Island and not taste so sweet that your kids want it.
So if you see any menu that talks about ‘session Frozé’ don’t even try it. And frankly leave the place.
The Canteen, I should add, has a wonderful and fairly hidden back beach area with bar, and has terrific food to boot - the braised Brussels are an epic dish to go with the happy grins on your face as you order drink number two.
